Testimonials from well known professional guitarist

Tom Lawrence is one of the finest teachers and guitarists I have run across. We have played together on a few occasions and it has always been swinging! http://www.frankvignola.com/

Tom Lawrence is a good friend and an incredibly versatile guitarist. I’ve heard him play styles from 50′s & 60′s rock to country to jazz like George Benson or Wes Montgomery, and play them seamlessly. Tom is a great teacher as well. His teaching method covers all styles at all levels. http://www.steveabshire.com/

Another thank you note for a “80 year old’s birthday party” I played guitar at.

Just wanted to say thank you for the great performance on Sunday.  It was exactly what we wanted.  I don’t know if you noticed, that my Mom did  perk up and notice when you played Achy Brakey!  Crazy.  I am sorry that the crowd is not as engaged as your typical audiences, but this type of fun entertainment goes a long way with them.  And my daughter Holly got a real kick out of being included, it helped her not feel so awkward in that environment.  =)

Thanks again for a great time!

Jazz @ Copelands – Mother’s Day

Another testimonial from a customer enjoying my jazz band at a local venue!

Hi Tom,

Nice to have your group play yesterday for the Brunch.  My family certainly enjoyed it.

I’ve sent an email to the management telling them that it was a very good idea for them to have Jazz music during the brunch.

Below is my email to Copelands

Had our family Mother’s Day Jazz Brunch at the Columbia, MD (Little Patuxent Parkway) outlet.  Had a great brunch made even more wonderful with the Jazz Band.  Certainly was a great idea to have such jazz musicians there yesterday.

All the best, Rod”
Further success in your endeavors,

Student Reviews

My son Jeremy is 15 and has been taking guitar lessons from Tom since he was 12.  Tom is not only an extremely accomplished and talented musician, he is a wonderful teacher.  He is kind and patient and funny and knows how to make the learning process fun. Guitar lessons are one of the highlights of Jeremy’s week, and he has made tremendous progress under Tom’s guidance.

-Susan Gordon

Tom is an incredible teacher and musician.  Our son has studied guitar with Tom since 2004.  Tom has a wonderful manner resulting in a strong rapport with his students.  We have recommended Tom as a teacher to several people with different levels of musical experience and the feedback has been consistently “rave reviews.”  If you are interested in learning to play the guitar and have the opportunity to study with Tom we would encourage you to do so!  We couldn’t be more pleased with our son’s progress and success.

-The Marcus Family

My son started guitar lessons with Tom three years ago, and we’ve been thrilled with his progress. From the very beginning, he was doing rock and roll and loving it. He’s done classic rock and some jazz, as well as improvisation. Tom’s a great musically, and he’s also a great guy. He’s courteous, professional and reliable.

-Heather Offenberg

I started taking lessons from Tom before entering the 9th grade, when I began to develop and interest in playing jazz. Previously I’d learned to play blues, rock, that sort of thing, and I had a lot to learn. I couldn’t have found a better teacher; we are very lucky to have a guitarist and teacher of this caliber in our area. After just 4 months of lessons, I was able to make the senior jazz band at my high school even though I was only a freshman. Tom is laid back but always pushes me to new places. And he’s always willing to just “play” and see where we end up going. I have so much more to learn from him, I don’t think I’ll ever know it all, he’s an amazing guitarist, but I look forward to the journey.
